Vasily is a ward of Perspektivy, he has a severe disability — a combination of physical and mental health problems. He has been living in a boarding house almost all his life. Vasya is one of the most talented ceramists in our workshop. From his hands come out lively, warm things, each of which is accompanied by a story:
“I decided to make a mug. There was a mug, but it broke. And you need to drink a lot! When there is a lot of water in the mug, a person feels good and pleasant in the heat. Water must be good and sweet! Otherwise the mug will take offence and say: ‘Why do I live? I give a human something to drink, and he makes such unsweetened tea’”.
In the early 2000s, Perspektivy came to psychoneurological boarding house No. 3, where Vasya lives, and opened several workshops. This gave adults with severe disabilities the opportunity to do what they liked instead of sitting aimlessly in the corridors of the boarding house. The classes help the inmates to believe in their strengths and express themselves.
In order for Vasya and 30 other wards to attend the ceramics workshop every month, 133,669 roubles need to be raised. This amount will allow to pay for the labour of a master teacher for five months, who accompanies the people at all stages of making products. We hope for your support!
