The majority of our wards – lonely elderly people – do not have their own washing machines. In such cases, they pack their dirty laundry and clothes into bags and hand them over to the foundation's staff for washing.
Very often, the foundation's employees encounter situations where, due to reduced cognitive functions, the seniors do not always hand over these bags on time, and the items deteriorate to the point where they have to be simply thrown away. Having a washing machine, a social worker at the elderly person's home can wash a larger number of items on the spot and provide the elderly person with clean clothes. It will also reduce the workload on the foundation's laundry.
Svetlana Vasilyevna is 68 years old, and she, on the contrary, can take care of herself at home, but washing clothes manually proved to be overwhelming for an elderly woman with hypertension and diabetes.
The funds collected will be used by the foundation to purchase washing machines. Let's help improve the level of cleanliness and comfort in the homes of elderly people!
