Lisa is about to turn eight years old. She was born with special needs: she has Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect. Immediately after her birth, she underwent a complicated heart operation and has been under the care of a cardiologist ever since. She needs constant care and attention. But health problems are not the only thing Lisa faces. Because of her delayed speech development, she needs special classes with a speech therapist-defectologist. These sessions will help her to improve her communication skills and open up new opportunities for socialisation and self-development.
