With them, 4-year-old Vika will grow and gain weight. Immediately after birth, Vika developed necrotizing enterocolitis and doctors removed most of her intestines. Since then, she has lived only on IV drips with intravenous nutrition. The mother connects her daughter to the drip for 18 hours every day, because all nutritious and useful for growth and development substances must go straight into the bloodstream. If Vika grows, her intestines will also recover. One day she will be able to get away from IVs forever.
