Amina is 10 years old. She loves drawing and swimming in the pool, adores her mom and dad and her younger brother Umar, and dreams of becoming a doctor. But more than anything else, the little girl from Dagestan dreams of walking and running again, like all ordinary children. And the struggle for her dream goes on daily, from the very early age. At the age of one year Amina was diagnosed with osteogenesis imperfecta, having found traces of numerous healed fractures on X-rays. The course of an already severe disease was complicated by mild anemia and mineral metabolism disorders. By the age of 10, the girl had suffered more than 50 fractures of bones in her trunk, arms and legs. Amina is treated by leading specialists in bone pathology in federal clinics of the Russian Federation. A few years ago, with your support on the platform and foundation, the little girl underwent a complicated surgery and had a "growing", telescoping pin installed to strengthen her fragile bones and keep them from breaking again. For a while, the daughter and her mom forgot about the fractures and enjoyed life. Amina walked confidently and started school. But on June 30, 2024, another difficult fracture occurred and the pin bent. Amina had to return to her wheelchair because she cannot walk. Now it is necessary to replace the broken pin with a new one as soon as possible.
