Sergei is three years old. He is growing up in a friendly and loving family: his mother, father, and two brothers, the oldest and the youngest. The parents learned that the future baby would have a difficult diagnosis - spina bifida - when he was still pregnant. So the family came to us for help and information. Since then we have been supporting and helping Sergei's family.
Spina bifida is a malformation which develops in utero. Its causes are unknown. A child always needs surgery in the first hours of life. This surgery to suture a spinal hernia was performed on Sergei as well. But the complex consequences of the diagnosis still could not be avoided. Sergei's legs are paralyzed, and he cannot stand on his own.
But Sergei is a cheerful, patient, and cheerful little boy. Most of all, he loves to play with his brothers in the cars and catch-up. The little boy watches cartoons, and then draws his favorite characters on paper. How nice it will be when the boy will be able to look at the world on an equal footing with his brothers, from his height, because now the baby is only crawling.
The fund "Spina Bifida" is collecting funds to buy a special vertical positioning device for Sergei. It is impossible to get it from the state, it is not on the federal list of anti-collapse devices, and so it is not included in the individual rehabilitation program.
Let's help Sergei learn to stand!
