Due to global climate change, polar bears have become frequent visitors to coastal Arctic settlements in the last decade. This problem is especially acute in Chukotka. Among the villages most frequently visited by polar bears are "Ryrkaipiy" and "Billings". Appearance of the rare predator in a settlement can have serious consequences for both the animal and people. To avoid dangerous encounters, volunteer teams - "Bear Patrols" - work in the villages. They drive away predators before they reach settlements, and also warn local residents about the appearance of a polar bear. To drive the animals away, they need ATVs and snowmobiles in working order, and fuel and lubricants (F&L) in abundance. Thanks to your support, polar bear repellents, fuel and lubricants, and spare parts for ATVs and snowmobiles were purchased for the "Bear Patrol" teams in the villages Ryrkaipiy and Billings. This will help them to do their job effectively, reducing the risk of conflicts, and promote peaceful coexistence between people and polar bears.
