Dilrabo started radiation therapy

Nastenka

Foundation Moscow

Friends, thank you for your help in raising funds for Dilrabo's treatment. The girl has begun radiation therapy at the Burdenko Scientific and Research Center for Neurosurgery in Moscow. The treatment is long, but it is vitally important for Dilrabo. And all this became possible only thanks to your support. Thank you very much! Umidjon, Dilrabo's uncle, wrote us: "From Dilrabo's parents, all relatives and me personally I would like to thank you very much for the help you have given to our family. We came to Russia because it was the only way we could help my niece. We had no idea there were so many kind and sympathetic people around us. They helped us to raise the money for Dilrabo's treatment, which was out of our reach for a family with many children. This is a great support for us and hope that our little girl will be OK. We wish all the staff of the "Nastenka" fund and the users of the Tooba application, which was used to collect the money, good health, happiness and many more years to come. Thank you so much for not passing by other people's troubles.

Dilrabo needs radiation therapy to beat the disease

In mid-September of last year, 14-year-old Dilrabo suddenly started complaining to her parents about headaches. This had never happened before; the girl had been in good health up to that point. The parents were worried, but thought it might be due to the excitement of the beginning of the school year. Plus the family was expecting a new addition - two Dilrabo twin brothers were about to be born. The girl was given a couple of painkillers, all the unpleasant symptoms disappeared. But in early October, the headaches were followed by nausea and vomiting, and Dilrabo also complained of numbness in her left arm and leg. Her father urgently took his daughter to a local hospital (Dilrabo's family lives in a small Uzbek village), the girl was hospitalized, and examinations were conducted, which showed that the child had a volumetric chordoma of the skull base. A chordoma is a malignant, relatively rare tumor. It can be classified as a type of sarcoma, which is a general term for a group of cancers that affect bone or connective tissue. As soon as the girl's diagnosis became known, doctors in Uzbekistan immediately recommended that the parents go as soon as possible to Moscow, to the Burdenko Scientific and Research Center for Neurosurgery, because only this medical institution has effective treatment methods for the disease. The family flew to Moscow urgently. Moscow neurosurgeons performed Dilrabo's surgery, the tumor was removed, but the treatment was not over. In order to completely rule out a recurrence of the disease, the girl needs to undergo radiation therapy. The treatment for the child has to be paid for and is very expensive, because Dilrabo is not a citizen of the Russian Federation. The girl's parents have no money to pay for the treatment. Together let's help the girl to defeat the disease.
