Every day, Kolya delights the nanny with new skills. He has learned how a pig grunts and how a kitten meows, and he has even built a pyramid. It seems like Kolya missed the first year and a half of his life, and now he is making up for it. Just yesterday, he cried out of fear while taking his first steps, but now he can’t be caught in the corridors of the Social Center.

Also, Kolya’s friend Dasha has come to visit him. She also has a rare genetic disorder that, fortunately, can be treated. While the doctors figure out the damage that the illness has unfortunately caused, Dasha doesn’t spend her time in the hospital—she lives in the "House for Life" of the foundation: playing, working with a speech therapist, walking with the other kids and the nanny, and learning how to hold a spoon correctly. Most importantly, she is learning to smile.

Baby Kolia and other orphaned children with serious illnesses need the support of nannies during their treatment

Kolia from the Amur Children's Home in Blagoveshchensk is 4 years old, but no one can give him more than two. When the experts from the "Road of Life" foundation saw him, he was already in critical condition. In his home region, everyone tried their best to help the orphaned child, from whom his parents had abandoned him. This emaciated and tiny baby, suffering from a widespread genetic syndrome and accompanying diseases, found himself in a difficult situation. At one year old, he weighed less than six kilograms and couldn't lift his head. Kolia couldn't cry; he squeaked like a kitten. Today, this boy can walk with support; he is calm and confident. Kolia is a favorite among everyone. These changes have been achieved thanks to the help of doctors and the work of a nanny. In 2022, at the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital, Kolia's wounds were treated, and he began to live without pain and abdominal fistulas, allowing him to develop and grow. Kolia is just one of the beneficiaries of the Foundation's program. We help many children with difficult life stories. A nanny is by their side during treatment and rehabilitation. She complements the work of doctors with patient care and skilled support. Please help us cover the costs of the nursing staff.
