To conduct an interview with Dima, who is a ward of our foundation, we connect via video call. After a few beeps, a serious young man appears on the small screen of my smartphone and says, "Hello." Dima is charming and smiles easily. He loves carving figures out of wood and dreams of becoming a producer. Unfortunately, he is also battling a dangerous disease, which is his second time fighting it.
"In 2016, I had the last stage of nephroblastoma, kidney cancer. At one point, I just started to feel a lump in my stomach. A month passed like this. Until the ambulance took me to the hospital. They were diagnosed there, the tumor was removed and chemotherapy courses were started.
Everything was fine until recently. In the summer, I was examined in Novosibirsk, and I had scheduled tests. When the results of the latter came in, the head of the department said that I was being transferred to the regional hospital because the percentage of blast cells in my blood was 55%.
I was there for almost two weeks, under the supervision of doctors. And so, in the middle of July, I arrived in St. Petersburg. First I went to the temple, only then I went to the clinic [named V. A. Almazov]. That's how it all started. Antibiotics again, a course of chemotherapy."
Bone marrow transplantation can help Dima win over the disease again. However, before starting it, you need to undergo immunotherapy with medicine Blinzito. Support Dima and help him get better as soon as possible!
