Valod was born a healthy and strong baby boy. But when he was 4 months old, the whole family became ill with covid. For his parents and two older children, the disease was severe, but there were no consequences. And Valod lost his hearing.
To make the boy able to hear again, he was fitted with cochlear implants - electronic processors, which are implanted in the ear of a deaf child and begin to transmit sounds directly to the brain. However, the surgery is only the beginning of the journey. Now Valod will have to learn to “hear” his processors, i.e. to perceive what the electronic device transmits to him, to understand what he has heard, and to speak. Unfortunately, speech in children after hearing aids does not develop independently - rehabilitation is needed.
The first courses have already brought results - Valod can construct a simple sentence and understands his relatives at the everyday level. If we help the child to continue the treatment, Valod will be able to cope with the speech delay completely, go to a regular school, to university, grow up to be a smart, self-confident person who will have a beautiful and competent speech.
