Magomedrasul has been living with Parkinson's disease for 15 years. It all started with barely noticeable symptoms: at first he had difficulty writing and buttoning buttons with his right hand, and after 7-8 years the disease affected his left side as well. Despite many years of therapy, the medication gradually stopped helping - resistance developed. Severe symptoms appeared: mask-like face, slowed movements, difficulty in walking and even episodes of “freezing”.
He went through many courses of treatment in Moscow and Makhachkala, but his condition steadily worsened. The last hope was bilateral stimulation of deep brain structures (STN-DBS).
Thanks to your support, in December 2024, Turkish neurosurgeons performed this complex operation. Electrodes were placed in Magomedrasul's brain and a neurostimulator with a 25-30 year warranty was placed under his skin. A week later, he was discharged from the clinic: a post-operative CT scan confirmed the perfect placement of the electrodes, and the wounds healed without complications.
Today, the change is remarkable:
- Stiffness and “freezing” when walking have disappeared;
- The ability to drive independently has returned (previously impossible due to tremors and bradykinesia);
- He is back to doing what he loves to do - repairing cars, restoring fine motor skills in his hands.
“I used to feel life slipping away,” Magomedrasul shares. - Now, thanks to you, I can hug my children, drive and even help my neighbor fix his engine. It's a miracle!”
Your donations didn't just give him a chance - they brought him back to a full life. The stimulator will work for decades, which means that Magomedrasul has years ahead of him filled with movement, joy and close people.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your participation and trust!
