Elvis was born deaf. At 1 year and 10 months of age, the boy was fitted with cochlear implants in both ears - electronic processors that pick up sounds and transmit them directly to the appropriate parts of the brain - so that he could hear and learn to speak. But this was only the beginning of the child's hearing and speech development: without specialist training, Elvis still cannot fully understand the signals transmitted to him by the electronic devices and has great difficulty learning to speak.
The boy has a large family: Elvis is the only brother of three sisters. Even with them it is difficult for him to communicate - in joint games he does not understand the rules, it is difficult for him to express emotions. Despite the fact that the boy goes to a regular kindergarten and is always surrounded by other children, he is very lonely - everyone is communicating, and he can't even always understand what is being said to him.
In order for Eltvis to overcome his delayed speech development, he needs intensive and complex rehabilitation courses in a center that specializes in helping children after hearing aids. Such centers are scarce. Elvis' family lives in Crimea, and the nearest doctors who can help him are in the Moscow region. The treatment is effective, but expensive.
That's why the boy needs help. If we help, Elvis will begin to understand others and speak better himself, and his life will be filled with communication and relationships.
