Yaroslav arrived two years ago for treatment in St. Petersburg from the children's home for the disabled in the Sverdlovsk region, where he had lived since birth.
The boy was born with a spinal malformation and moved only in a wheelchair until the age of 10. He had orthopedic surgery in the summer. Yaroslav is currently undergoing postoperative rehabilitation. The boy has a chance to get back on his feet.
But in order to develop social and household skills, he needs the help of a speech pathologist and speech therapist. Unfortunately, all children in orphanages are lagging behind in development, and orphans with special needs are even more so.
