Eight-year-old Arina Aristova has a drug-resistant form of epilepsy - her disease does not respond to medical treatment. The girl has tried more than ten anticonvulsants. All of them give only a temporary effect or don’t help at all.
Doctors started talking about the surgery in Germany as the only option.
While we were collecting money for the supply of the anticonvulsant drug "Petnidan" for Arina, the girl and her mother visited a clinic in Germany.
German doctors thoroughly examined Arisha and decided to correct her treatment. The new combination of drugs had the desired effect, and there were no more major attacks. And when EEG video monitoring (a study that helps to identify abnormalities in the brain work) showed positive dynamics, the doctors were finally convinced that the body responded to therapy, which means that a rather risky operation can be avoided.
