Yakub is 5 years old. At 2 years and 4 months old, the parents noticed that the child stopped responding to the name, did not look into the eyes. After contacting a neurologist, he was diagnosed with delayed speech development.
First of all, a special test was conducted for Yakub to determine his current level of skills and diagnose existing developmental and behavioral problems, after which the boy began classes. During the course, the child became calmer and more attentive, and began to make contact with teachers and other children easier and faster.
Yakub has a positive dynamic in the development of onomatopoeia, he began to pronounce vowel sounds clearly and loudly. The child was introduced an alternative communication system using PECS cards, thanks to which he learned how to compare a picture with an object and look for similar objects, asking with a pointing gesture.
The adaptive physical education coach paid special attention to teaching the child to jump and keep body balance. He started jumping with a cue, learned how to work out on a treadmill, throw a ball at a target, and began to control his body better.
In classes on sensory integration and adaptive physical education, the boy was engaged in developing endurance, strengthening his muscular frame and body in general, and learned to ride a scooter. There is a positive trend in the development of large and small motor skills of the child. Yakub also completed a course of hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of this course. The use of hardware procedures during the intensive rehabilitation course certainly gave an impetus to the improvement of the boy's cognitive, speech and mental functions.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in raising funds for Yakub's rehabilitation!
