Thanks to you, Dima received a course of rehabilitation!

Dima Afanasiev is the fifth child in a family living in the Russian countryside. The family is close-knit, hard-working, living on their own; the two older children, already students, are the main helpers for the parents. The Afanasievs did not live richly, but they did not need anything, so everybody waited for little Dima and were sure that having many children was a blessing. Dima was born too early due to a sudden threat to his mother's life. The premature birth caused a brain haemorrhage. Dima has a disability due to several pathologies of the central nervous system. The Afanasyevs did not give up and started to work hard with him. He has a lot of daytime activities organised by members of his family. The nearest medical centres are many kilometres away. During one more visit to neurologist it became clear, that the family efforts in treatment of Dmitrijs boy are not enough, they need professional rehabilitation combined with exercises at home. The family tried to pay for the first rehabilitation course themselves. They took loans and sold what they grew on the farm. Later, Dima underwent rehabilitation with the help of several foundations. All vocational rehabilitation courses contributed to the progress of Dima's development. Dima started to crawl, speak better, communicate actively. Now Dima really needs to go to rehabilitation, because the boy is seriously ill in 2020, and there is a regression of development and deterioration of the main diagnosis. The Afanasjevs are asking for your help, because the family's loan burden is too high and there is nothing left to sell to pay for the boy's rehabilitation.
