Leyla suggests that it is because of the hardships she has endured that her health may have deteriorated. In 2012, she had a stomach ache and during a gastroscopy, doctors discovered internal bleeding and immediately admitted her to hospital. After tests, she was sent to an oncological clinic, where she was diagnosed with osteomyelofibrosis.
For five years, the treatment did not yield results. But Leila did not believe that her diagnosis was incurable: she was continued to look for ways to recover. A new phase of treatment began. Supportive chemotherapy, targeted therapy, spleen removal - Leila started looking for a donor for a bone marrow transplant. Her daughters were not a match, and there was simply no suitable donor in the registers. But a miracle happened. Two years later, a person who matched Leila's genotype joined the registry.
Now Leyla Azadovna, with the support of her three daughters and husband, is waiting for a transplant. But she does not sit idle while waiting for the date of hospitalisation: she has been working as an accounting technician at the port of Temryuk for 25 years, and even her illness has not forced her to quit her job - according to Leyla, it is morally hard to stay at home. After she recovers, she wants to help people too - for example, to become a volunteer and popularise donation, to inform the population about how important it is. So that someone doesn't have to wait several years for a donor.
