Timur has delayed speech development. After 2 years, he lost eye contact and speech, and had an eating disorder.
At the beginning of rehabilitation, Timur did not interact with the teacher, did not look into the eyes and did not respond to the name. During the intensive classes, the boy learned to cooperate with the teacher, calmly part with the motivational subject, and began to turn to his name. The ABA-therapy specialist worked on visual perception, motor imitation, and an alternative communication system using PECS cards.
In sensory integration classes, the teacher selected a number of exercises to improve vestibular perception and body awareness. By the end of this course, Timur had mastered the skills of attention retention when performing tasks and games. Impulsivity has decreased and planning of actions has appeared, as well as positive dynamics in the development of large and small motor skills.
Timur worked with an adaptive physical education coach to increase endurance and improve discipline. The boy learned to jump over obstacles and do somersaults. Now he confidently stands on a balance beam and steps over the hemispheres, keeping his balance.
