Alikhan from Karachay-Cherkessia is 4 years old. He has been fighting illnesses for most of his life. Born at 32 weeks, he spent his first month in intensive care on a ventilator. This was followed by two years of continuous bronchitis, pneumonia, and abscesses all over his body. Doctors diagnosed him with primary immunodeficiency—a condition where the body cannot defend itself against infections.
Now Alikhan loves to draw and go for walks, but his opportunities are limited due to his illness. To help the boy, doctors need to understand the exact genetic cause of his immune system failure. This requires whole exome sequencing—a test that will show which treatment will be effective specifically in his case.
We are raising funds for important genetic tests for Alikhan and other children with congenital immune pathologies. Your support will help doctors select the right therapy for them and give them the opportunity to live a full life.
