Little Veronica and her brother, Matvey, suffered the loss of their father. Their mother, unable to cope with the loss of the family's breadwinner and the resulting responsibilities, moved to another city. The children were left alone for an indefinite period. Grandmother Lyudmila took the children in and became their full guardian.
Lyudmila is a very sweet woman and a caring grandmother. Her main dream is to raise her grandchildren, provide them with an education, and care for their health.
Lyudmila lives in a communal apartment and owns two small rooms. There is only a toilet and a kitchen on the floor, no bathroom. Child welfare authorities recommended installing a shower, but she lacks the funds.
The family currently needs food assistance, the purchase and installation of a shower, and legal and psychological assistance. A social worker from the foundation accompanies Lyudmila and her grandchildren and helps her develop an individualized plan to overcome this difficult situation.
This collection will allow us to pay for a month of work for a social worker, who simultaneously supports 12 families in crisis. Thanks in large part to the work of the social curator, children in these families can live at home with their relatives, rather than in an orphanage.
