Until recently, Veronica herself walked up the stairs, painted, played and could hug her mother tightly. And today, her mother helps her sit down, feeds her with a spoon and supports her hand with every step. Veronica's severe tremor makes it difficult to even hold a spoon or pencil.
Over the past six months, the disease has begun to rapidly take away the simplest skills from the girl. Doctors don't know why this happens yet. Veronica is 11 years old. She is very kind, sociable, and loves encyclopedias, drawing, and soap bubbles. And also dolphins. Mom tries to take her daughter to dolphin therapy every six months. Veronica is really happy there.
"Dolphins are the best friends," Mom says.
Veronika is currently in a hospital in Moscow. Here, for the first time, she underwent a special MRI scan, which was not available in her hometown. Previously, the deterioration was associated only with seizures, but now it has become clear that the cause is much deeper.
Veronica urgently needs genetic tests before surgery. They will help doctors understand why the disease is progressing so quickly and choose the right treatment.
Veronica's mother is always with her. A little sister is waiting for the girl at home. The family is very tired, but they continue to fight for Veronica every day. Please help me pay for the examination. These tests can give doctors answers, and Veronica a chance to keep her skills and walk again.
