Olya has a rare genetic disease and needs rehabilitation therapy!

Olya is 7 years old. She has Rett syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that occurs only in girls and manifests itself after six months, when the child begins to regress skills. Since 2020, Olya has been undergoing an annual examination at the NIKI of Pediatrics. Veltishcheva. Doctors have confirmed the diagnosis and are making recommendations. In 2023, the family saved up for the first rehabilitation. The course lasted 5 weeks. And the results are there! Olya has started sitting on a chair without falling, her back has strengthened, and her muscles have become firmer. She can maintain a quadrupedal position, although she has not yet learned to crawl. Experts suggest that she may first learn to walk and then crawl, which is a common occurrence in individuals with Rett syndrome. Currently, Olya does not walk independently. She observes the play of other children from her stroller and expresses a strong desire to join in. The necessary adaptive physical education course will give Olya a chance to become stronger and get closer to her dream of running and playing like all other children. Let's help her!
