A collection to pay the wages of a social worker at a sewing workshop for adults with mental disabilities

Life Route Foundation helps adults with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities live ordinary lives. One of the ways we do this is through our sewing workshop.

Sixteen people attend the workshop. Some are just learning how to thread a needle and sew a straight seam, while others can already make kimonos, bags, and other textile products on their own. Everyone learns at their own pace, which is why a social worker is always there to support them. They help participants understand patterns, remember each step of the process, cope with frustration when something goes wrong, and finish what they have started.

Thanks to this support, participants do much more than learn to sew. They become more confident, develop new skills, learn to work as part of a team, and experience the satisfaction of creating something with their own hands.

Right now, we are raising funds to cover the salary of the social worker in our sewing workshop for the next month. Your donation will help adults with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities continue learning, working, and building more independent lives.
