Little Katya has faced challenges since birth. During pregnancy, her mother was told about her daughter's diagnosis—spina bifida (a congenital spinal defect). Doctors suggested terminating the pregnancy, but her mother chose to fight for her girl, believing Katya could live a full life.
When Katya was just a month old, she underwent surgery. She made it through and is growing up to be an active girl. She loves drawing and modeling with clay, and she's always ready to sing and dance anywhere, anytime.
However, her condition requires ongoing medical attention and regular check-ups. That's why in January, Katya and her mother need to fly from Barnaul for an examination. For a family raising three children, such a trip is a significant expense.
