Fatima has completed an intensive rehabilitation course and learned important skills!

Fatima is 4 years old and has autism. Because of this diagnosis, the girl has no speech, she does not look into her eyes, self-service skills are not formed, academic skills do not correspond to age. Thanks to classes with an adaptive sports instructor, Fatima mastered the treadmill, learned to jump, play with a ball, pedal a bicycle, became more involved in classes, active and executive. Before the start of the course, the girl could not perform elementary exercises and did not take instructions. After intensive training with a behavioral analyst, Fatima learned how to follow instructions with a subject, distinguish stimuli, motor imitation, and follow the order in games. The girl also mastered the technique of "lacing", which indicates the improvement of fine motor skills, perfectly correlate the Seguin plates, confidently distinguish identical objects and pictures in the set, imitate with objects when choosing from the set. Fatima became more diligent in the classroom, there was an understanding of the addressed speech, the implementation of simple instructions and involvement in communication with a specialist. All this indicates the emergence of positive dynamics in the development of cognitive functions and the improvement of academic and thinking skills of the girl. In addition, Fatima was tested and determined the level of skills, on the basis of which an individual program for the development of academic skills and correction of undesirable behavior of the girl was developed, which was transferred to her parents so that they could study with her under this program after completing the rehabilitation course. A sensory integration specialist revealed high tactile and reduced musculoskeletal sensitivity before starting the course. The set of exercises was selected in accordance with these features and aimed at reducing the deficit in these areas, including by adding weight during exercise. Work was also carried out on understanding the instructions. As a result of the lessons, Fatima had improvements in imitation of actions, there was a response to instructions. The girl began to feel her body better in space and keep a balance. Also, as part of an intensive rehabilitation course, Fatima was treated with hardware methods, including a course of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and a course of bioacoustic correction of the brain, which gave positive dynamics both in intellectual development and in the behavior of the girl, parents and experts note that Fatima became more calm and diligent, eye contact appeared.
