Leysan has Usher's disease, a rare genetic disorder that causes deaf-blindness. When the girl entered adolescence, she showed her first symptoms and was finally diagnosed at age 17. Now the girl has bilateral third and fourth degree hearing loss. Her ability to hear is decreasing gradually, and unfortunately the process is irreversible.
Leysan wears hearing aids to keep in touch with the world, but since her hearing is getting worse, the old hearing aids are no longer strong enough and she needs to replace them.
Leysan's mother does her best to make her daughter's life bright and interesting. She fills her days with impressions that will forever remain with Leysan, in her memory. Thanks to her mother's efforts, the girl leads a busy life: she goes skiing and takes part in competitions, goes swimming and draws well.
