Ahmed from Ingushetia is only 7 years old, but he already has several disappointing diagnoses - delayed psycho-speech development, sensorimotor alalia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Ahmed does not speak, does not understand the addressed speech, quickly loses the acquired skills.
In February and March 2022, Ahmed underwent 2 intensive rehabilitation courses conducted by specialists from Astrakhan.
The behavioral analyst conducted testing to establish the current level of the child's academic, communicative, social skills and barriers associated with undesirable behavior (VB-MAPP testing). Based on the test results, the goals for building an individual training program for the development of Ahmed's skills were determined. The specialist also assessed the boy's preferences and determined the hierarchy of motivational stimuli, thanks to which Ahmed began to cooperate and follow the instructions of the teacher. In addition, the boy was introduced a system of tokens, the concept of "first-then", he learned to ask for the desired objects and actions in a socially acceptable way (through an index gesture and a card), as a result, eye contact was also established. Ahmed's vocabulary has expanded (nouns and verbs), the number of manifestations of undesirable behavior during the lesson has decreased, concentration of attention, perseverance, understanding of the addressed speech has improved. The specialist also worked on the introduction of listener behavior to Ahmed, visual comparison, tact and phrase extension when making requests.
The adaptive sports coach carried out intensive work to teach Ahmed the basic skills, since he did not know how to do anything at all. After a 2-month course of classes, the boy learned to run, jump, catch and throw a ball, crawl, overcome an obstacle course, keep balance, his large and small motor skills improved.
Also, during the rehabilitation, Ahmed underwent 2 courses of hardware correction using the Tomatis method, which has a beneficial effect on the development and understanding of speech, has a positive effect on the development of cognitive functions of the brain.
