Life Route Foundation helps adults with mental disabilities to live a normal life. The photos show Vanya Rozhkov, a client of our Foundation. He used to live in a closed institution - a psychoneurological boarding house.
Recently, with the help of the Foundation, Vanya left the boarding school and got his own apartment, where he lives with his brother, who also has a disability. Moreover, Vanya now works in our sewing workshop. He studied for a long time, but recently he sewed a kimono all by himself: from the pattern to the finished product. This is already a very high level of skill. And now Vanya sews kimonos with confidence and in large quantities.
Apart from Vanya, 15 other people attend the workshop. Guys learn to sew and do needlework from scratch, in different techniques, under the guidance of masters and social workers. We always proceed from what a person is interested in, what he or she is passionate about and has an aptitude for. No needle-studded fingers and no tears over hoops. Only freedom and joy of creativity.
Right now the foundation is in a vulnerable position and we are collecting money for the salary of the head and the assistant of the sewing workshop for the next month. So Vanya and the other guys can continue to do what they love. By making a donation you support people who really want to work and not just sit in the four walls of an apartment or boarding institution.
