The picture shows Vika, a client of the Life Route Foundation. Vika is 38 years old, she likes cooking and drawing animals, chatting with her friends in messengers, and most of all - congratulating everyone she knows on holidays and giving presents.
Besides, Vika has lived in closed institutions for many years - first in an orphanage and then in an adult boarding school for patience of neurological profile. All because Vika has a mental disability, which means that learning to be independent is more difficult for Vika than for her non-disabled peers.
Fortunately, a few years ago Vika met with the Life Route Foundation and moved into a assisted living apartment. This is a form of life that allows people with any disability to live at their home, in an normal apartment, have their own room and personal space, go to visits and movies, and work in an regular job - not in a closed institution where none of this is possible.
The Life Route Foundation is starting a collection for the salary of a social worker. This is a personal assistant for people who cannot yet live alone. Vika needs such help almost all the time - that means that social workers help her every day.
Please help Vika and other clients of our Foundation not to be alone!
