Anzhela discovered the first tumor seven years ago. Doctors at the Children's City Hospital immediately removed it and diagnosed it with fibromyxoid sarcoma of soft tissues, a malignant disease. However, three years later, the tumor grew back in almost the same place. Anzhela underwent another operation and was prescribed courses of polychemotherapy. The treatment was not easy for her. Anzhela was helped to overcome one hospital ordeal after another by her mother's support and favorite activities — she painted, molded from plasticine, made various crafts and wrote poetry. "Anzhela has a very persistent character. When we didn't even know about her illness, in training and important competitions, she added to her goal, won prizes. And all this, despite the fact that Anzhela sometimes found it difficult to breathe," says Radmila, Anzhela's mother. Now, according to the attending physician, Anzhela needs to undergo a molecular genetic examination. It will help determine the possibility of targeted therapy, in which the treatment affects directly the tumor cells, and not the entire body.
