Charity runners: who they are and how to become one 💚

Hello! This is Valeria, head of external communications and events at Tooba.
People keep asking us: who are charity runners and how can you become one?
A charity runner goes to the start line not only for their own medal. They choose a campaign on Tooba and tell their audience the story of a person who needs help. Friends and followers support the athlete by helping the person they chose to run for.
Bloggers, sports fans, running clubs and teams can join.
Not just running
We started with races, but the idea works in other sports too: sailing, skiing, golf, triathlon. What matters is a personal challenge that is interesting to follow.
How it works
• Registration: you get a promo code or a slot, often with a starter pack.
• Campaign: a personal link that shows your contribution.
• 10–14 days before the start: you tell people about your distance and the person you're running for on social media and in personal chats.
• Start day: you share moments before, during and after the finish.
• Afterwards: you sum up the results and thank everyone who supported.
What a charity runner gets
A slot and a starter pack, Tooba merch, joint content, prizes from partners and the community. And most of all, the chance to help close a campaign with a real name and story behind it.
How to become one
You need the desire to complete a distance and the readiness to tell about it in your own words. We'll take care of the rest.
