Meet the “Kind Tap Backpack”: a new feature that helps get a child ready for school

Friends, there's a new feature in the app: the “Kind Tap Backpack”. Donors fill a virtual backpack with the school things a child needs: clothes, a school bag, stationery, notebooks, and see the real price of every item. The final donation amount is built from what you picked yourself, item by item, instead of just sending any sum to a general campaign.

It's a new way to help children quite literally: put together a box of needed things for a child and watch the backpack fill up right on the screen. Some people add a single pencil case, others pack the whole backpack, from the school bag to the jacket.

We launched it for a reason. Our team has long known that September 1 is only the start of the spending, not the end. For low-income families, the list of expenses only grows after the first-day ceremony: a second school uniform, workbooks, subject-specific stationery, clubs and activities.

And by the way, there's great news on this front: the “Get a Child Ready for School” campaign, which we launched on August 24 together with nine charitable foundations, has already brought more than a million rubles in help to children from low-income families. Thank you to everyone who donated, reposted and told their friends.

One more nice thing: inside the app, we've prepared two achievements specially for the “Kind Tap Backpack”. The first goes to everyone who donates any amount through the feature, and the second to whoever packs a backpack worth ten thousand rubles.

So if you haven't tried the “Kind Tap Backpack” yet, now is a great time to open the app and pack a backpack yourself. And if you know people who want to help but didn't know how, show them this feature. Thank you for being part of the team that makes things like this possible.
